If you have ever thought about becoming a childminder then come and find out more at Portsmouth City Council's childminder recruitment event at 6.30pm, Wednesday 17 January at Landport Family Hub in Portsmouth.
The free, two-hour briefing session will give you all the information you need about becoming a childminder, including:
- Helping you to consider the challenges and rewards of childminding
- Providing an understanding of the role of the Local Authority
- Taking you through the Ofsted Registration Process
- Supporting you to gain an understanding of The Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework and Guidance Documents
There will also be an opportunity to hear from a current childminder and ask any questions you may have.
Councillor Hannah Hockaday, cabinet member for education, said: "Portsmouth childminders provide a professional childcare service for hundreds of children in the city. If you think you have the skills to set up as a childminder then please come along to the event to find out more about the next steps and how we can support you in making it your career."
Childminder recruitment events are held once a term at the Landport Family Hub, 221 Arundel Street, Portsmouth, PO1 1NF.
