We recognise the value that serving regular and reservist personnel, veterans and their families contribute to our city and the country.

Portsmouth is one of 407 local authorities in Great Britain that have pledged to uphold the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the British military, and their families, are not disadvantaged by their service.

By signing a covenant we have agreed to uphold the principle in that members of the armed forces community shouldn’t face disadvantage.

As we approach Armistice Day and  Remembrance Sunday businesses and charities that recognise the unique value that members of the Armed Forces Community bring can also show their commitment by signing the pledge and joining the employer recognition scheme www.armedforcescovenant.gov.uk  search get involved/sign the covenant
