The historic Southsea Castle is undergoing a spring clean and spruce up.

£15,000 has been earmarked to clean the exterior of the castle and re point some of the stone work of the castle which was built during the reign of Henry VIII.

Cllr Steve Pitt, Cabinet Member for Culture Leisure and Sport said: "With Southsea being in the spotlight this summer more than ever with D-Day 75, we want the 476 year old Southsea Castle to look its best - this funding enables us to do that."
