Permanent CCTV cameras are being installed by Portsmouth City Council to watch over Stamshaw's adventure playground, ballgames court and park.
A CCTV system has been installed at the adventure playground, which will soon have 12 cameras keeping an eye on the site and nearby areas. Eight are already in place, with another four due to be up and running soon.
The area has been one of the locations in the city where a mobile CCTV unit, with three cameras, has been sited in response to community concerns.
This unit has been at the site since earlier this year, following reports of anti-social behaviour and an attack on a police officer.
Cllr Lee Hunt, the council's Cabinet Member for Community Safety, has commissioned an official update on the cameras for his portfolio meeting on 31 July.
He said: "I'm very pleased these cameras are being installed, to reassure local people who use the area and who have concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour. CCTV is a very useful tool in helping to keep our communities safe."
