Absolute Bowie will perform at Last Night of the Bandstand on Saturday 8 September, Southsea Common, followed by a spectacular fireworks display to mark the end of the season's, free, seafront event.

From 4pm, joining Bowie will be popular cover band The Bootlegs and DJ Ray Andrews. The fireworks finale starts at 8.45pm, with the event closing at 9pm.

Cllr Steve Pitt, Portsmouth City Council Cabinet Member for Culture said: "We've had a really busy summer of events in the city.

"Last Night of the Bandstand is always a popular free, family show, and promises to be a fitting end to the summer season."

Visitors are reminded this event takes place at the western end of Southsea Common.

With Eastern Road closed northbound from 7.30pm on Saturday until Sunday 3pm, drivers leaving the city should be aware of possible delays and consider using alternative routes or travel methods.
