Join us for a packed programme of Q&A sessions, workshops and drop in activities at The D-Day Story on Friday 26 & Saturday 27 July between 9.30am to 5.30pm.  

Some of the world's leading specialists on D-Day will be there to answer all your questions and help you find out more about D-Day. 

Award-winning professor, author and military historian John C McManus is hosting a Q&A session and former Royal Marines Commando David Abrutat is on hand to answer your queries about D-Day intelligence and reconnaissance missions.

Topics include:

  • The role of the American 1st Infantry Division on the Normandy beaches
  • The personal stories of nurses on D-Day
  • the role of the US Navy Seabees in Portsmouth & the South East

You can also share your WW2 photographs with Julie Summers, author of 'Jambusters', the book that inspired the ITV series 'Home Fires'.

Cllr Steve Pitt, Cabinet Member for Culture Leisure at Portsmouth City Council said: "Our D-Day 75 commemorations have sparked renewed interest in D-Day and the festival of knowledge is the chance to get all those questions you have about D-Day answered by the experts."
