Coronavirus: council service information and advice

Information about changes to council services as a result of coronavirus

'Crowdfund Portsmouth' is a crowfunding initiative we launched earlier this year with Shaping Portsmouth to help local businesses, social enterprises and individuals to raise money from the crowd and unlock match-funding from us and other grants available.

As businesses face worrying times, we have made changes to the scheme to help small businesses adversely affected by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. We ask hope you will support our local businesses, social enterprises, creatives and self-employed by 'paying it forward' through the crowdfunding scheme to help these businesses survive.

The focus is on sectors not currently covered by the measures already announced and updated daily by central government. Through the crowdfunding site businesses can ask for money from the crowd for services they will receive in the future when they re-open. Examples could include children's entertainers, photographers, personal trainers and therapists.

In addition, we will offer match funding of up to £5,000 per project to those which meet set criteria. The crowdfunding platform will be managing the due diligence checks and match projects to funders based on our criteria.
