Building new homes 

We are building more than 200 brand new high quality, energy efficient homes to ease housing waiting lists and generate rental income.

This work is part of the most ambitious council home building project in Portsmouth since the Second World War.

Homes we've built

  • Henrietta Place: Seven three-and-four-bedroom family houses built on the site of an old car park and ball court, in Warwick Crescent, Somerstown. Shortlisted for Portsmouth's Best New Building award.
  • Invincible Terrace: Ten three-bedroom family houses built on the site of an old car park and re-positioned roundabout, in Wellington Street, Somerstown. Shortlisted for Portsmouth's Best New Building award.
  • Ark Royal House: 12 two-bedroom flats built on the site of a re-positioned roundabout, in Winston Churchill Avenue. Shortlisted for Portsmouth's Best New Building award.
  • Illustrious House: 16 one-and-two-bedroom flats and a ground floor retail unit, in Winston Churchill Avenue.
  • Alexander McKee House: Supported living development. Four one-bedroom flats and one two-bedroom flat built on the site of a disused playground, in North Street, Portsea.
  • Temple Court: Supported living development. Two five-bedroom bungalows and two one-bedroom bungalows built on the site of the old Buckland Family Centre.
  • Moorings Way: Supported living development. Three four-bedroom flats and one one-bedroom flat, in Milton.
  • Buriton Close: Five houses and four flats, in Holybourne Road, Havant.

Homes we're building

  • Ivy Close: Nine family houses and 51 flats on the site of the old Somerstown Health Centre, in Blackfriars Close. Due for completion Summer 2018. Watch a video of us building the houses and flats at Ivy Close.
  • Eastern Road: Supported living development. Due for completion Spring 2018. Four one-bedroom flats and two four-bedroom flats.
  • Steep Close: 20 family houses and 28 flats on council owned land, in Blendworth Crescent, Havant. Due for completion Summer 2018.
  • Fred Francis Close: 30 houses and 8 flats on council owned land, in Kingsclere Avenue, Havant. Due for completion Summer 2019.
  • Moorings Way 2: Supported living development. Due for completion Spring 2018. One five-bedroom flat, one studio flat, one one-bedroom maisonette and one two-bedroom house.

Homes we'll start building soon

  • Unicorn House: 23 one-and-two-bedroom flats, on the site of the old Southsea Community Centre, in Kings Street. Planning permission granted.
