Portsmouth City Council reviewed the availability of pharmacies in the city by conducting a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment that closed on 15 January 2015.
A Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) outlines the current pharmaceutical services provided in the local area. It also assesses whether additional pharmaceutical services are required. These services could include opening additional pharmacies, relocation of current pharmacies and changes to opening hours.
We collected all the responses to the consultation and the final version of the PNA (including consultation) was published on or before 1 April 2015.
Since the publication of the PNA in April 2015, a new Distance Selling Pharmacy has started trading (from 1 August 2016) in Portsmouth. The map in the PNA document below has been amended (figure 23, page 50).
