To help make central Cosham an even nicer place to live, shop and visit we are carrying out an improvements programme.
This project follows on from similar work to improve shopping areas in North End and Southsea. It has a budget of £200,000 and focuses on the area surrounding Cosham High Street.
A consultation on the plans was carried out with local businesses and residents. You can download the results of this consultation below.
Following the consultation, we developed a final plan including:
- widening pavements
- providing safer crossing points
- making the one-way system permanent
- changes to parking spaces
- improvements to the area's appearance
- improved facilities for cyclists.
The plans were approved and are available below.
As work began in 2013, most major elements of the work have been completed, but some parts are still on-going.
