Following Government advice in relation to Coronavirus, the Civic Offices is closed to customers until further notice.

This is because the council is working hard to keep essential services running, while also minimising social contact to help reduce the spread of the virus. You can find health information at: www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or call 111 if you have health concerns.

Keeping in touch with us

Following Government advice that is designed to help reduce the spread of coronavirus, we've taken a number of steps to help ensure the wellbeing of customers, staff and the wider community, while also keeping essential services running.

This means some of the services you usually use will be closed, or will be operating in a different way.

We are working hard to make sure the services you rely on are available as far as we possibly can, and we are putting additional measures in place to make sure that people in at-risk groups who may be more greatly affected by the social distancing measures are supported.

Housing offices - update 

Housing offices are now open to FOR CASH PAYMENTS ONLY. If you are able to make payments online or over the phone, please do not visit your area offices.

Council tax payments

If you’ve received a council tax bill and would like to pay it, there are lots of ways to do that:

  • Pay online
  • Use telephone and internet banking - please quote the taxpayers reference number displayed on your bill, as well as the council's bank details: 
  • sort code: 20-69-57
  • account number: 23526623
  • 24-hour phone line - please telephone 0800 876 6576 to make a single payment. You will need your card details – the long number on front of your card – and your council tax reference number.
