Portsmouth City Council offers support to employees who have been made redundant, or who are under the threat of redundancy, as well as to businesses who are obliged to make staff redundant.

Redundancy support for employers
If you are an employer facing the task of making redundancies, Portsmouth City Council's employment initiatives team can offer advice and support, phone 023 9262 1860 or
The Learning Place now delivers courses on:
- Health and Wellbeing (e.g. confidence building, relaxation and stress busting)
- Improve your skills (e.g. CV writing, Employability support)
The Learning Place hold an employability drop-in sessions on Friday mornings from 10:00am - 12:00 where people can access computers, enhance/create their CV, apply for jobs online etc.
A National Careers Service Advisor is available every other Thursday morning and available for all Employees at risk of redundancy.

Redundancy support for employees
There is a strong local network, led by the council regeneration and business department, to link employees whose posts are being made redundant with new opportunities, jobs, courses and voluntary work.
