Apprentices at Portsmouth City Council were celebrated at a special event recognising their hard work and success.

 

The 2026 Apprenticeship Graduation and Awards Ceremony held at Portsmouth Cathedral celebrated those who have successfully completed their apprenticeship programme, with some awarded for excellence.

The ceremony also welcomed new apprentices, highlighting the Council’s continued commitment to developing talent and investing in future skills.

Martin McCrorie and Melody Dodgson were presented with awards for demonstrating outstanding achievement, dedication and impact. Thomas Sullivan was also given mentor of the year award to recognise a someone who has consistently gone above and beyond to support their apprentice. Cllr Chris Attwell, Cabinet Member for Central Services said “This ceremony is an important opportunity to showcase the value of our apprentices, as well as to celebrate success, recognise excellence and acknowledge the vital contribution apprentices make to the Council and the wider community.”

This annual ceremony is held to showcase the value apprenticeships have within the council and the wider community.
