You may qualify for a Council Tax disregard if you are a relevant Ukrainian person.
A relevant Ukrainian person is someone who meets one of the following:
- has permission to enter or stay in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme
- meets the criteria set out in the relevant government regulations and guidance relating to the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
Tell us about changes to your circumstances
If you receive this disregard, you must tell us within 21 days if your circumstances change and this could affect your entitlement. You may receive a penalty if you do not tell us about a change.
For example, you must contact us if:
- another person moves into the property
- the relevant Ukrainian person no longer lives at the address
- the relevant Ukrainian person no longer meets the qualifying criteria
We may contact you from time to time to check that you are still entitled to the disregard. You must still tell us about any changes within 21 days.
