Plots not paid for within six weeks will be repossessed.
Annual charges
Allotments are charged per square metre annually, so the cost will depend on the size of your plot.
Find annual charges and discounts below for 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.
Allotment plots (charge per square meter):
- £0.66 (2025–2026)
- £0.69 (2026-2027)
Huts (additional charge to plot):
- Chalets (North Harbour): £161.32 (2025–2026); £167.45 (2026-2027)
- Old Style Huts (Milton Piece): £16.82 (2025–2026); £17.45 (2026 -2027)
- All Other Huts: £59.01 (2025–2026); £61.25 (2026-2027)
Concessions:
- leisure card holder: 40% discount (both years)
- people aged 60 and over: 37% discount (both years)
There’s also a small fee for the allotment site gate key, issued by the Allotment Association. Replacing a lost key also incur a charge, payable to the Allotment Association.
How to pay
New tenants can pay online, by cheque, or over the phone using a credit or debit card.
The tenancy year runs from 1 November to 31 October. To renew, you can pay online, by phone (credit or debit card), in person (cash or cheque) at the Civic Offices or selected city libraries.
