Adults in Portsmouth can get free vaccines to protect against illnesses like flu and shingles.
These include:
- Flu vaccine – for people aged 65+, pregnant women, and those with long-term health problems
- Pneumococcal vaccine – for people aged 65+ and those with certain health conditions
- Shingles vaccine – for people aged 70–79
- Whooping cough (Pertussis) vaccine – for pregnant women, usually between 28–32 weeks
Most vaccines are given at your GP surgery. Some flu and pneumococcal vaccines are also available at pharmacies or supermarkets.
If you’re pregnant, your midwife can give you the flu vaccine at your antenatal appointment.
