If you think you might have been exposed to HIV, it’s important to get tested. The sooner you know, the sooner you can get help. Early treatment can help you stay healthy for a long time.

If you have HIV

There is lots of support available if you are found to have HIV. This includes:

  • A guaranteed appointment with a nurse or doctor within 48 hours
  • Ongoing care, treatment and check-ups
  • Mental health support from a health advisor or nurse
  • Help from a dietician with healthy eating
  • Help from a pharmacist with your medicine
  • Telling partners anonymously if needed
  • Sexual health care and regular STI checks
  • Special care if you are planning a baby, are pregnant, or have other health issues like hepatitis or TB
