Fair for You is a charity that offers loans for furniture and household appliances through its online store.

Delivery is free. You may need to pay extra for connection. Interest is 51.1% APR.

Visit the Fair For You website to look for items and check whether a loan is affordable for you.

If you find the same item for less somewhere else, check the low-cost loans section for other borrowing options.

Budgeting Loan or Budgeting Advance

You may be able to get an interest-free loan to help pay for essential items over £100.

Maximum loan amount:

  • single person – £348
  • couple – £464
  • family with children – £812

You must have been getting one of the following benefits for at least 6 months:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Pension Credit
  • Universal Credit

Budgeting loans will not be granted to pay for daily living expenses, such as food and utilities.

How to apply

To apply, complete the budgeting loan application form and return it to the Jobcentre.

If you receive Universal Credit, contact the Jobcentre to ask about a Budgeting Advance.
