Claim or cancel a single person discount

You can apply for or cancel a single person discount online. From here, please refer to the section titled Apply for Council Tax reductions

You will get 25% off your Council Tax bill if meet both criteria:

• you are aged 18 or over
• you are the only adult aged 18 or over living in the property

To apply for a single person discount, you’ll need your Council Tax account reference number. You can find this on your bill.

Tell us if someone moves into your property. You will need to provide:

• who has moved in
• when they moved in
• where they moved from
• your relationship to them (for example partner, joint tenant, lodger, son, daughter, or parent)

To cancel a single person discount, you’ll need your Council Tax account reference number. You can find this on your bill.
