For children who have not yet started school, there are a number of options available for childcare, including:
- Pre-Schools tend to be open from 8am-4pm, term-time only. Some may open for fewer hours or half-days. Pre-Schools are Ofsted registered and regularly inspected.
- Nurseries tend to be open from 8am-6pm all year round. Nurseries are Ofsted registered and regularly inspected.
- Childminders offer flexible care in their own home for up to 3 children under the age of 5. Some may also care for older children before and after school. Childminders are Ofsted registered and regularly inspected in the same way as nurseries and pre-schools. They often offer additional services like earlier care, later care, weekend care and school pickups/drop-offs.
