If your business is facing a restructure or redundancy process, support is available to help both you and your employees.

What employers need to do

During a redundancy process, you should:

  • decide which roles are being made redundant
  • speak to all staff whose jobs are at risk
  • hold a group consultation if there are 20 or more redundancies
  • give official notice to affected staff, including when their job will end

Business support from councils

Your council can provide business advice and referrals to relevant agencies. It can also help set up on-site workshops to support affected employees with job search, training and upskilling, financial advice and benefits support.
