Finding ways to keep children entertained just got a lot easier, now the 50 things to do before you’re five initiative has arrived in Portsmouth.
The free app and website are packed with ideas for keeping little ones occupied and active, whatever the weather. All 50 activities are free or low-cost and designed for children aged 0-5, though the whole family can enjoy them together.
Experiences range from fun games and ideas to try at home, as well as inspiration for getting outside and exploring places around the city.
The 50 things to do before you’re five initiative has been introduced locally by Portsmouth City Council’s Early Years Team.
Mike Stoneman, Deputy Director, Education, said:
“Keeping children busy can be challenging for all families at times, especially during school holidays.
This free app offers a wealth of ideas to get children active and inspired, even on rainy days. 50 things will support learning and help children to develop their vocabulary, and give parents, carers, grandparents and the wider family fun things to enjoy with their children all around the city.”
Families can download the app, visit the website and find free and low-cost experiences to take part in.
