Portsmouth businesses looking to improving their energy efficiency and save money can take advantage of a new Switched on Business website.

The website has been created by Portsmouth City Council to support businesses to make improvements to their energy use and carbon output.

Cllr Kimberly Barrett, Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Greening the City, said: “A range of businesses have told us they don’t know where to look for information on reducing carbon and saving energy, so we’ve created this website to help. It pulls together the best available information and we’ll keep updating it with the aim of having something for all businesses.

“Our local businesses are a vital part of Portsmouth and, whether they don’t know where to start or are ready to invest in new technology, we want to help them save money, but this is also part of our pledge to help businesses, and everyone in the city, on a journey to becoming carbon neutral.”

The Switched On Business website will serve as a resource hub, offering guidance on energy conservation and carbon footprint reduction for businesses, charities, and community groups. It will also feature training, support initiatives and funding opportunities, enabling businesses to embrace carbon reducing practices while fostering a greener, more sustainable future for Portsmouth.

This new initiative builds on the council’s ongoing support for residents with home energy advice via Switched On Portsmouth, offering energy saving advice and access to home upgrade grants.
