The planning application for Bransbury Park Leisure Centre has been submitted and residents are invited to view the final plans.

A drop-in exhibition will be held on Wednesday 20 March 2024 at Eastney Community Centre from 2pm to 6pm where the project team will be available to show the final designs.

The application sets out proposals that include a GP surgery, 25 metre swimming pool, learner swimming pool and a gym and fitness studio. Outside, it proposes a free-to-access artificial football pitch and multi-use sports court. A children’s play park is also planned, east of a slightly realigned miniature railway.

Councillor Steve Pitt, Leader of the council with responsibility for culture, leisure and economic development said: “The planning application marks a significant milestone in the development of Bransbury Park leisure centre. We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to give their opinions and feedback on the plans and expect to see the application live online within the coming days”.

The council has been working together with contractors, Wilmott Dixon, to bring forward a modern leisure centre that will offer an array of health and wellness-based activities. Existing community facilities will also remain.
