A final call for tickets to the Teach Portsmouth Jobs and Opportunities Fair has gone out, with over 300 people already set to attend.

The event at Portsmouth Guildhall on Monday 26 February from 10am – 2pm invites people to learn about careers in the classroom alongside training and apprenticeships.

Councillor Suzy Horton, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education at Portsmouth City Council said:

“With less than one week to go until the big day, we’re sending out a final call for Portsmouth to get their tickets before the deadline.

“The event is the best place to find your classroom calling. With even more exhibitors, including teacher training and apprenticeship providers and an option to sign up to taster sessions – the opportunities to support children and young people are truly endless.”

Last year, over 200 people attended the event, with organisations recruiting teaching assistants, vision and hearing specialists and administrative staff.

To support those who require more information about the sector, a series of talks are available to watch. Topics include information on apprenticeships, becoming a teaching assistant, primary and secondary teaching and working in a school.

Entry to the Teach Portsmouth Jobs and Opportunities Fair is free. It is recommended people time their visit with the presentation schedule.

Online ticketing closes on Sunday 25 February at midnight. For more information and to get a ticket, visit www.teachportsmouth.co.uk/jobsfair
