Portsmouth City Council is delighted to announce that Willmott Dixon, a leading construction company, has been chosen as the preferred contractor for the Bransbury Park Leisure Centre project.
Willmott Dixon has successfully delivered 55 leisure centres in the last five years.
Following residents’ feedback on the Bransbury Park Leisure Centre design in March, architects have been making changes to the design. Willmott Dixon will now work with the council on the final stages of the design process before plans are submitted for planning in Autumn.
This is an important step towards providing residents with a sports, swimming and GP facility in a modern leisure centre that will promote health, well-being, and social interaction for years to come, in line with the council’s vision.
Cllr Steve Pitt, Portsmouth City Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure & Economic Development, said: “We’re pleased to be working in partnership with Willmott Dixon, who has extensive leisure construction experience, to deliver a state-of-the-art leisure facility for our residents.
“We’re excited to submit our updated design plans for planning permission in Autumn, moving us a step closer to delivering a sports and swimming facility for people to enjoy healthier and happier lives.”
Willmott Dixon is excited to be part of the Bransbury leisure project. Richard Poulter, Managing Director at Willmott Dixon, commented, “We are proud to be selected as the preferred contractor for Portsmouth’s Bransbury Park Leisure Centre, which was facilitated through the Southern Construction Framework, and we are looking forward to bringing this project to life”.
