Local businesses, community groups, and charities are being encouraged to showcase their projects and services at the upcoming Party for The Warren this July.
The council’s engagement team will be hosting the community event in partnership with Havant Borough Council and Park Community School, with hundreds of people expected to attend.
It takes place on Saturday 8 July, 12-2pm at the Giant Steps green area in Havant (PO9 4JW) and will be a chance for people to see and have their say on new proposed housing plans for the area. Free ice-cream, face-painting and glorious sunshine (hopefully) will also be available for everyone to enjoy.
For stallholders, Cabinet Member for Housing and Tackling Homelessness, Cllr Darren Sanders, says it’s a unique opportunity to reach a wider customer base.
“Having local businesses and groups on show is an important part of these community events and the council’s role in supporting our residents,” he said.
Last year, the team put on similar community parties in Cosham, Somerstown and Hilsea which delivered huge turnouts and a fun range of stallholders – everything from the NHS ambulance service offering CPR education, to marshmallow roasting, to Jedi training.
With loads of businesses and groups already signed up, engagement manager Tim Raw recommends registering interest as soon as possible.
“Party for The Warren isn’t far off now and we want to try and include as many people as we can. Registering interest is easy, just pop your details in an email and one of our team will be in touch.
“Everything is free and everyone is welcome.”
