There’s still a chance to sign up for the fun activities and events that are on offer with Portsmouth City Council’s popular 60+ Festival, which is running from Saturday 1 October to Sunday 16 October.
Anyone 60 years and older can take advantage of a variety of activities, ranging from cooking to ballet, and from guitar lessons to bingo.
With lots of activities to choose from, the festival provides an exciting opportunity for anyone wanting to try something a bit different, learn new skills or meet new people. Most of the activities and events are free.
Cllr Steve Pitt, Portsmouth City Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Economic Development, said: “I am delighted to welcome the return of the 60+ Festival. We are a city that supports culture and creativity and this gives people the opportunity to try out a whole range of new and exciting activities, which will hopefully inspire a new chapter of learning and experiences.”
Many of these events are easily reached by public transport. Please walk, cycle, scoot or use public transport wherever possible.
The timetable for all the events and activities are available in the festival’s online brochure, available to download here. There are also paper copies of the brochure available in libraries throughout the city.
