Portsmouth has story to tell, and is a city alive with local people and communities taking direct action to influence the decisions affecting their lives. Crime is falling, educational attainment rising, satisfaction increasing and public services improving.
And all around our city, Portsmouth is changing for the better thanks to local people and communities working together to achieve more in a number of innovative ways.
Stephen Morgan, Project Manager (Getting Closer to Communities) says "There are lots of ways local people can have a voice and influence the decisions that affect them, with examples of local people, communities and staff working together in taking direct action to improve their communities and build a better Portsmouth".
On this page of the website, the Democratic & Community Engagement team put short two page 'factsheets' on key topics for anyone working in and with communities and people who are interested in having their say. They aim to give you more information on projects, policies and developments affecting community involvement.
