Everyone’s different. Everyone has a unique set of needs and views. It’s our job to understand and respond to them. We aim to put our customers at the heart of everything we do to provide the services that meet your needs and views.
We are keen to ask people what you want from the services we provide, and what you think of what’s on offer. We don’t want to create barriers to certain groups using our services, and if people aren’t using our services we want to find out the reasons why so we can change our provision to better meet peoples' needs. We also want to find out what people think about our policies, strategies or plans.
One way to stop barriers happening is by involving lots of different people, and finding out what they actually want from a service. This process is called consultation. It’s about effective two-way communication, by giving you plenty of opportunities to have your say, either about us and the services we provide, or about other important things that affect you as residents.
You can find the issues that we are currently consulting residents on below.
We recognise that we need to do more to keep you updated about what happens as a result of consultation, so we will also use these pages to tell you what you said about the issues we consulted you on, and what we can do to respond.
We have an award-winning best practice toolkit to help people planning consultation – and it’s the agreed approach for Portsmouth. To download your copy, click on the link below.
