Asset Management

We exist to improve the quality of the built and natural environment in a way that improves our customers quality of life.

We also act as custodian for the council’s property assets and we do this in a number of ways.

Design

The Design Group makes a significant contribution to the design of new buildings and landscapes around the city designed to meet modern standards of service delivery. Examples of this design include:

  • Arundel Street environmental improvements
  • Waterside School annexe
  • Mary Rose School
  • City Girls Learning Centre
  • Priory School drama, fitness and tennis centre
  • Paulsgrove Inside/Outside project

Facilities

The Facilities Group ensures that the Civic Offices, the main council building, is able to provide a suitable environment for staff to deliver quality services.

Maintenance

The Maintenance Group are responsible for ensuring that our buildings are maintained to the standard required to deliver services to the public. Among the 500 buildings we maintain are schools, social services and some buildings of historical importance including Southsea Castle and the Round and Square Towers.

Property

The Property Group is responsible for generating income from the sale or rent of property owned by us. The income is used to support service delivery, reduce council tax and contribute towards the capital programme funds. The team also challenges how we use our property resources to ensure the most effective use of buildings.
