Corporate Plan 2007 - 2010

Our Corporate Plan sets out our priorities and the targets we aim to achieve over the next three years. In the previous Corporate Plan we identified a list of key improvement targets and priority actions. This updated plan contains a reviewed, refined and shorter set of medium term and short term priorities, with targets for keeping track of progress.

During 2005-2006 we made significant improvements, including reducing homelessness, improving road safety, increasing the provision of affordable housing, promoting Portsmouth as a premier waterfront city, and ensuring more people know how to make their voice heard.

However, we still need to make improvements in other areas such as increasing the use of public transport, increasing recycling, reducing violent crime, improving road maintenance, and ensuring vulnerable residents live in decent homes. This plan responds to these issues and also supports a range of other key areas. For example, the smoke free city campaign, increasing resident participation in cultural activities, supporting growth of the local economy, reducing carbon emissions and improving services for looked after children.

Also provided below is a list of performance indicators that show our current performance against national targets and service standards (the statutory set of Best Value Performance Indicators, or BVPIs).
