Victoria Park is one of the oldest public parks in Portsmouth, located in the city centre. One of the main features of the park is the variety of the unique selection of trees.
The park is a green oasis in the city centre and used by office workers during lunchtime, families and students. It also links the city centre with Portsea and other areas.
The introduction of a new playground in Victoria Park is part of the Play Pathfinder programme. This programme is aimed at providing more natural and challenging play for children aged 8-14 years and is also focusing on girl’s play.
We chose Robinia wood structures for the play area, it’s natural look blending in with the park. The four towers offer a variety of climbing, challenging play in a setting of mature trees. Bridges, ropes, nets and stepping logs link platforms that can also be accessed by ladders. Further features are basket-swings, hammocks and slides.
