Event for residents to get involved in European Week of Safety and Health

Bike Residents are invited to a free event in Guildhall Square next Tuesday (October 21) to get health and safety advice between 10am and 2pm, as part of European Week of Safety and Health.

The council will be teaming up with the emergency services to offer the public the opportunity to have their bikes security marked, meet the road safety team, learn how to use ladders safely and much more.

There will also be emergency vehicles on display, including a Mini that has been kitted out as an ambulance.

Councillor Jason Fazackarley, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to meet with council and emergency services personnel to get help and information on health and safety matters.

“I would urge anyone in the area to drop by, as there will be lots of stalls full of useful information.”
