Jane Singh, Visitor information Service Manager for Portsmouth City Council said; “It’s fantastic that our efforts to provide the best possible information services to visitors to the city have been acknowledged. Tourism is a vital component in keeping Portsmouth lively and cosmopolitan, and good visitor information keeps people coming back again and again.”
The six criteria that were examined by judges in this competition were; partnership, commitment to excellence, investment in staff training and development, accessibility, innovative marketing and care for the environment.
Portsmouth's Tourism and Visitor Services Team is in place to help visitors make the most of their time in the city, but despite the name, it’s for those who live in Portsmouth too. Residents can also contact the service to find out what’s going on in their hometown and surrounding areas.
