Jargon and plain English

We are corporate members of the Plain English Campaign, which means that we are committed to producing all our information in plain English.

We will avoid the use of complicated terms, often referred to as jargon, wherever possible.

Sometimes we may have to use technical or legal terms relating to a subject that you may not understand. When this happens we will explain the terms we have used.

If you find something from us that you feel is not written in a clear and easy to understand way then please email us at corporate.communications@portsmouthcc.gov.uk to tell us about it.
