Royal Marines Band concert and Beating the Retreat - Friday 1 August

The Royal Marines School of Music is holding its annual concert on Friday 1 August at 2pm at The Guildhall in Portsmouth.

The Open Day Concert features the Royal Marines Concert Band, Big Band, Orchestra and Corps of Drums.

Gordon Campbell, Lead Trombone from the BBC Big Band, will be conducting Big Band numbers - including music from Glen Miller - as well as perennial favourites from The Dambusters to Rule Britannia.
 
The world famous Beating Retreat is the finale in the Guildhall Square at 5.00pm  - this will be the largest Royal Marines Parade Band ever seen in the Square.
