Hilsea Lido main pool opens for the summer season
The main pool at Hilsea Lido is opening for the summer on Friday 25 July at 11am.
Despite considerable efforts by the city council and Parkwood Leisure - operators of the facility - this is a day later than planned, due to last minute technical problems with a circulating pump and the length of time it takes to fill the pool.
The Splashpool at Hilsea Lido has been open since May half term and the Splashpool at Paulsgrove will open as planned tomorrow (24 July). The pool at Westfield School opens on Monday 4 August.
Councillor Terry Hall, Cabinet member for Culture and Leisure, said: "We have been working very hard to overcome some last minute problems with the main pool, but are confident it will open on 25 July for an enjoyable summer season."
Hilsea Lido is open every day from 11am to 6pm until Tuesday 2 September.
