Futures of young people explored in writing
Budding young authors across Portsmouth will see their work in print with the publication this week of a collection of some of their best writing.
The unique collection of writing, published by Portsmouth City Council, explores the theme 'Futures'.
Young authors from schools across the city have reflected on their visions of the future for our city and explored themes of designing, protecting and creating the future they want to see.
Over 500 entries were received and the eighth annual celebration of writing includes over 100 entries.
Councillor Eleanor Scott, Executive Member for Education, Children and Young People, said: "This book is a tremendous publication and highlights some of the best writing by our city's young people."
For the fifth year, the book is supported by the University of Portsmouth's Up for It programme.
