Children have designs on the Mountbatten Centre
Kier Southern - the company working on redeveloping the Centre, including building the new 50 metre swimming pool - met the children earlier this month during a health and safety talk at the school, which is next to the Centre.
The school organised a competition for designs to brighten up the hoardings around the site and three lucky winners were selected.
Fellow pupils will be helping Emily Cornell (9), Emily Love and Lewis Newton (8) paint their designs, together with some assistance from a retired sign painter and an art student.
Martin Orr, director of Kier Southern at Havant said:
"I am delighted that Kier Southern can involve the local school children in this exciting and prestigious project for Portsmouth. Once complete, the Mountbatten Centre will be a fantastic leisure facility that will make a real difference to the whole community and it's great that the children who will benefit from the finished centre can also play a part in the construction process."
Stamshaw Junior School Head Simon Cattermole added: "We are really pleased to be able to highlight site safety as well as getting the children involved in learning outside of the classroom."
