Residents living in the Fratton Police Sector (Baffins, Kingston, Hilsea, Nelson, Copnor & North End) will have the opportunity to quiz senior officers responsible for making Portsmouth a safer place to live.
The Fratton Neighbourhood Forum and AGM takes place on 24 June in the Wesley Centre, Fratton Road at 7.15pm. The 'Face the People' session will give residents the opportunity to ask questions relating to all aspects of community safety in the city. The panel will include Chief Supt David Peacock, Portsmouth's Police Commander, Lynda Fisher, Stategic Director at the city council and the question panel will be chaired by the Lord Mayor Cllr Richard Jensen.
Also at the meeting the Safer Portsmouth Partnership Plan 2008-2011 will be launched. The Partnership works across the city to deliver long-term sustainable reductions in crime, disorder and substance misuse.
The priorities for the next three years are:
David Williams, Chair of the Safer Portsmouth Partnership, said: "In drawing up our priorities for the next three years we have listened to the people of Portsmouth's concerns and we are doing our best to address them. We will make sure that our work is focused on preventing crime and making everyone feel safe in their neighbourhoods.
"I hope that residents in the Fratton area will come to the meeting on 24 June to hear more about our plans for a safer city."
'Face the People' sessions will be held in the coming year in all areas of the city.
