New leaflets showcase city's cycle attractions

Cycling Two new free cycle trail leaflets are being launched at the Visitor Information Centre in Southsea on Saturday 14 June at 10am as part of National Bike Week.

The new leaflets highlight the charms of cycling along two local routes:

  • seafront cycle ride of 4.5 miles from the Historic Dockyard to Eastney, taking in all the sights along the way
  • circular ride around Langstone Harbour - 15 miles from Hayling Island ferry in Eastney right around the harbour to the ferry point in Hayling.

Amanda Morris, the city council's travel plan officer said:"We have worked with the Visitor Information service to develop these leaflets, which offer both residents and visitors a great reason to get on a bike and explore the local area.

"The ride along the seafront is stunning and the loop around Langstone Harbour is like stepping into another world. To find out all the delights on your doorstep, pick up one of the leaflets and start exploring."

The leaflets are available on 14 June from 10am at the Southsea Visitor Information Centre on Clarence Esplanade (by Blue Reef).
