Hilsea Splashpool closed for essential repairs

Children swimming The popular Blue Lagoon Splashpool at Hilsea is currently closed for essential repairs to the pump.

The Splashpool opened for the summer season on 24 May but the pump unfortunately failed three days later.  The water in the pool had to be drained and it will remain empty and closed until the pump is replaced. A new pump is scheduled to be installed next week, then once the water is re-filled and the new pump has been tested, it is anticipated the pool will re-open on Saturday 14 June.

Entry to the pool is free and open to everyone - children under eight years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Paul Wheeler, Facilities Project Manager for Portsmouth City Council said: "We're disappointed the Splashpool had to close so soon after opening, but it should be back in action very shortly."

"At least the weather during half term wasn't hot, so hopefully the closure hasn't caused too much disappointment."

Hilsea Splashpool is open daily from 11am - 6pm until 2 September.

Opening hours are split into two sessions:
Session 1 - 11am - 2.15pm
Session 2 - 2.45pm - 6pm

The Splashpool is located next to Hilsea Lido and the Blue Lagoon  just off London Road in Hilsea.
