Lord Mayor's appeal

The Lord Mayor traditionally supports a local project or charity and Cllr Hall has chosen The Rowans Hospice in Purbrook, where her mother and mother-in-law were cared for.

The Rowans Hospice is a local charity, which provides specialist hospice care and support to patients with life limiting illness living in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire, their relatives and carers.

The service is provided free, irrespective of the diagnosis and does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, creed, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, age, financial means, or access to treatment or employment in its programmes or activities and aims to complement the overall provision of care within the community.

As a voluntary organisation with charitable status, The Rowans Hospice relies on the generosity of the general public for survival.

Forthcoming events in aid of the Lord Mayor’s charity appeal include:

Coffee mornings in the Lord Mayor’s Banqueting Room – 1 April and 5 May

Golf day at Rowlands Castle Golf Club – 29 April

Charity night at Portsmouth Greyhound Stadium – 30 April

Africapella in concert at the David Russell Theatre, Portsmouth Grammar School – 8 May

For information on all these events please contact the Lord Mayor’s appeal office 023 9283 4003 or email: appeal@portsmouthccgov.uk
