Council chief congratulates PFC on their success

David Williams Chief Executive David Williams has sent a letter of congratulations to Portsmouth Football Club following their success in the FA Cup Semi Finals on April 5. 

"I am writing to congratulate Portsmouth Football Club on your fantastic achievement on Saturday.

"Getting to the FA Cup Final and representing the city is the realisation of a life-long dream for the club’s thousands of supporters and it is sure to be a wonderful occasion, helping to put Portsmouth in the national spotlight. It also raises the profile of the city on the international stage which is a huge asset to our businesses and tourism as well as for future investors.

 "It is well recognised that having a successful local football team has a massive impact on how people perceive their home city, boosting pride in Portsmouth and helping our aspirations to become a world class city.

"The city council is immensely proud of your success in the country's top domestic competition as well as an outstanding performance in the Premier League this season.
