The first of five Farmers' Markets in Cosham this year kicks off on Saturday 26 April from 10am to 2pm in the precinct shopping area and south of the precinct, along the High Street. At a Hampshire Farmers' Market all produce sold must have been grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked or processed within Hampshire - or ten miles of the border. The producer, or someone directly involved with the production, must sell the produce themselves, with no bought in produce allowed.
Colin Walker, District Centres Coordinator said: "As a result of the success of the first three markets held in 2007 we now have five Farmers' Markets booked for 2008.
"This is great for Cosham as we can continue to attract more people to the area, to sample the products on sale and discover a thriving local shopping centre on their doorstep. We hope the markets go from strength to strength through 2008 as they did the previous year - this will enable us to get more dates for the future as a sign of the high demand for this type of event in the north of the city."
The other markets take place throughout the year on Saturday in cosham High Street:
