Caen competition aims to promote Portsmouth across the Channel

An exchange visit this week from the tourism office in Caen aims to promote the French city as a destination for local people as well as finding out about Portsmouth and showcasing its attractions to our twin city.

Caen has donated some extra special prizes for a competition including a weekend trip on Brittany Ferries with a car and hotel for two people, two night breaks in the French city and meals and wine in local restaurants.

Based at the Visitor Information at The Hard, the member of staff from Caen Tourist Information arrives on Thursday 3 April and will spend a few days working at the VIC.

Visitor Information Centre Manager Jane Singh said: "We are really looking forward to welcoming our French colleague to Portsmouth and showing him the sights of the city. He will then return to Caen with a good knowledge of what the city has to offer to our friends across the Channel."
