Biography

Councillor Jim Patey was elected to the council in 1976, to Paulsgrove ward in 1987 and is due for re-election in 2010. He was previously a councillor for Fratton ward between 1976 and 1986. He was elected Lord Mayor in 1992 and was Deputy Lord Mayor in 1993. He sat on both the Traffic & Transport and Light Rapid Transport committees in 1991/1992 and 1993/1994 and has been the Vice Chair of the Planning Committee on several occasions. He is currently the Leader of the Labour group and has previously been their Deputy Leader and Secretary.
