We like to believe that the culture of Portsmouth is a hidden jewel of the South Coast, as the city has more to offer than most people imagine.

In addition to the city’s major attractions, Portsmouth has a great track record for attracting big events with international appeal to the city, as well as hosting, and co-ordinating, a range of events throughout the year, both large and small, established and new.

There are far too many events happening across the city this year to mention them all, but here is just a taster of what's to come! Some of the events include:

• Live at the Bandstand
• Henry VIII 500 events and exhibitions
• 65th commemorations of the D-Day landings
• Food Festivals
• International Kite Festival
