Sun Huts

There have been sun huts along the seafront in Portsmouth since just after the second world war. Portsmouth City Council currently own 112 sun huts along Southsea Esplanade, with sites at Lumps Fort (Canoe Lake), St. Georges Road and Eastney.

They can be hired on an annual basis for a cost of £527 inclusive of VAT.  One hut is available at Lumps Fort for weekly hire of £75.00 inc. VAT and two huts are put aside for Leisure Card holders for a weeks hire of £27.50 inc. VAT.

Tenants have access to the huts for the duration of the hire period.

All the huts are inspected on a daily basis and repairs are carried out as needed.
